I hope your June is going well. Mine is looking way up, because The Amazing Sleeping Man (ASM) has returned home! It’s such a relief to have him back. Zoe and Shepherd Book were pretty excited too, although it took a few seconds for Book to figure out why he should be excited. He’s a dog of much enthusiasm, but little brain. Good thing he’s hilarious!
To fully wash Florida from the ASM’s psyche, we hiked a couple of miles up Big Creek. It’s a lovely shaded trail, and not terribly steep, which is important when you’re re-acclimatizing to altitude. We’re at 4000 ft, so it’s quite the jump after 3 weeks at zero. Book ran around like a crazy dog, and Zoe followed him most of the time—they both needed pain relievers that night. The hike was beautiful and relaxing; lots more pictures on Instagram and Facebook.

Those of you who have been reading my newsletter for a long time know that The ASM originally started his US Air Force career as a pilot, but got hurt and couldn’t complete the training.
